Initially, the college started as George Kostern Vocational Training College (GKVTC) offering Crafts certificates in Agriculture, Brick laying, Carpentry, and Tailoring under TEVETA.

Each student is required to undertake a mandatory 8 weeks field/industrial attachment programme before graduating.
